Scott H. Sicherer, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He specializes in food allergies and conducts research on their epidemiology and clinical aspects. His studies include determining the prevalence of food allergies in the general population and searching for genetic markers linked to peanut allergy. Clinically, he investigates the manifestations of disorders like peanut allergy, eosinophilic gastroenteropathies, anaphylaxis, and atopic dermatitis. Sicherer supervises three pediatric allergy clinics weekly. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed residencies in allergy and immunology at Johns Hopkins and pediatrics at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He is board certified in pediatrics and allergy and immunology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
