How does the new Medtronic Minimed Connect mobile health app with Enlite CGM sensor compare to the Dexcom G4 system?

I recently tested the Medtronic Minimed Connect, a new mobile health app that displays insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor (CGM) data on a smartphone. It also sends text alerts when glucose levels are too high or low. This system is similar to Dexcom's SHARE system. The Minimed Connect works with the Enlite CGM sensor and the 530G insulin pump. The app's interface is sleek and modern, showing current glucose levels and trends. Data is transmitted from the CGM sensor to the pump, then to a small Uploader device, and finally to the app. The data is also sent to Medtronic's CareLink platform for reports and sharing with doctors. However, I found the Enlite sensor to be inaccurate and unreliable, which affects the overall performance of the Minimed Connect. Despite its potential, the system needs improvements, especially in sensor accuracy. Medtronic is working on future updates and partnerships to enhance their technology. While my experience was not entirely positive, others may find it useful, and Medtronic offers a free six-week trial for those interested.
