How many companies are currently developing new CGMs for diabetes management?

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is becoming increasingly important for people with diabetes. Currently, more than 39 companies are developing new CGM systems. These systems aim to provide more accurate and user-friendly ways to monitor blood glucose levels. Some companies are working on noninvasive CGMs that don't require skin pricking. For example, Apple is exploring CGM technology that could be integrated into a smartwatch. Other startups are developing wearable devices that use optical sensors, radio waves, or even miniaturized MRI-like technology to measure glucose levels. There are also efforts to create implantable CGMs that can stay under the skin for months or even years. These innovations could make diabetes management easier and more comfortable for many people.
