Last week, my blood sugar levels were unstable. I started the day within the normal range, but after breakfast and my usual exercise routine, they dropped significantly, ranging from 59 to 73. Even before checking my glucose levels, I experienced symptoms like faint sweating, pale skin, weakness, and shakiness. Initially, it was puzzling because my daily routine hadn't changed. My breakfast varied between a whole-wheat English muffin with almond butter and blueberries, or oatmeal with raisins and Greek yogurt. I drank the same lemon water and coffee. So, why the lows? After some detective work, I realized that the recent addition of a new dog to our family had changed my routine. We were taking extra walks, adding 30 to 45 minutes of physical activity. This extra exercise was enough to lower my blood sugar levels. Now, I make sure to carry glucose tablets, a juice box, and candies during our walks to manage my blood sugar levels better.
