Learn about the dosage of Evenity for treating postmenopausal osteoporosis. You can also find information on the drug’s strength, form, and more.
Evenity is a prescription drug used to treat osteoporosis. It comes as a liquid solution inside prefilled syringes for subcutaneous injection. It’s typically given once per month. Evenity is specifically used to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis, especially in people with a high risk of fractures or when other medications can’t be used or haven’t worked well. The active ingredient in Evenity is romosozumab-aqqg, a biologic drug. Each syringe contains 105 milligrams (mg) of the drug. A complete dose is 210 mg, requiring two injections, administered by a doctor or healthcare professional in a clinic. The treatment cycle is 12 months, and your doctor will also recommend taking calcium and vitamin D supplements. If you miss an appointment, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible to reschedule. The primary effect of Evenity is to promote new bone growth within the 12-month period, which diminishes after 12 monthly doses. If continued treatment is needed, your doctor will suggest other osteoporosis treatments.
