David Zelman, MD, has extensive experience in the field of rheumatology. He received his BA from Syracuse University and his MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in rheumatology at LSU Medical Center. Dr. Zelman is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology. With over 28 years of clinical practice, he has spent the last 16 years as a consultant rheumatologist for Kaiser Permanente in Atlanta. He has also lectured on rheumatologic topics at Mercer University and national meetings for Kaiser Permanente. His interests include systemic lupus, gout, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
